Ford 4R70W Transmission Rebuild Question

I'm having problems with my Transmission, 4R70W, thought I might get some ideas from this site .
No better place I would imagine, I'm sure I'm not the first or the last.
I've lost 1st gear and nothing else, just out of the blue?
Anybody got a an idea?
I live in Iowa, seems these transmissions are hard to find used 4x4, there are no units available in junk yards locally.
Guess I might be rebuilding this unit, but reading one of the members with the same issue, he rebuilt and still had the same problem?
Maybe its a hard part and not a rebuild?

Without viewing the video, I'm just going to throw out that it may well just be a shift solenoid failed. Traditionally, the clutch packs were controlled by hydraulic pressure alone, now it is all electronic solenoids controlling the hydraulic flow. If the solenoid doesn't actuate, there is no flow to apply the clutches. Not knowing what part of Iowa you are from, I can say at least 2 good transmission shops in the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City area - Cedar Rapids transmission on 8th Ave, and Fountain Transmission on HWY 1.

Would be great if it was just a solenoid. Let us know how it goes Stinger.

Thank you I will, also tried using the Valvoline universal ATF.
I'm going to go buy the Ford Mercon V Transmission fluid and change.
