Are you talking about the firewall repair kit? I can snap pics of one in action... might be able to duplicate it, or I can check the local dealers to see if they still have one. Got surprised when I needed mine, the local dealer still had one.

That's about what I paid for mine, instructions and all... I had a bit of a crack, the PO just used bigger washers... Tore up the synchros for 2nd gear, but before doing the repair, it was hard to shift gears. Now that I did the whole clutch, the pilot bearing was bad, the truck shifts purty darn good...

Item Number E3TZ-7K509-B $169.96 REINFORCEMENT ASY-DA

170 bucks?
You gotta be kiddin' me! :/
Man they have no shame at all when asking for money do they? :/

That's about three days bring-home for me. :/
I bet I could make one and install it too, in less than three full days. ;)

My '90 F250 parts truck (351w+ZF) came with an extra plate and the
'91 Truck Shop Manual calls it a "Clutch Bracket 7A621"...

http://www.panix.com/~alvinj/file12/7A621.jpg
Sorry it's blurry, my camera can't take pictures up that close. :/

So, I guess that was Ford's fix?
The F250 parts truck's firewall is solid as anything where that part was. :)

My '89 parts catalog (CD) shows nothing but two nuts on that side of
the firewall with the 7A543 clutch master cylinder.

Make your own bracket. Cant be that hard. Id make a plate that bolts on the inside and outside.

The 170 dollar bracket goes all the way across the firewall.......the cheapo just covers the immediate area around the clutch master cylinder.

For the hassles, the 17 is worth it.Wouldn't be hard to make, but it does take a bit of time to make it fit if you don't have one to compare to.

As stated, the higher dollar kit is for one that went way bad, and needs extensive repairs. Better to catch it now for the cheap than wait for it to totally blow through and make the job way worse.
