F250 Rear driveshaft question

Hey I just snapped my Rear driveshaft on my 89f250 with the c6 regular cab 8 ft bed 4x4. I've found a drive shaft on eBay for a 4x4 f250 reg. Cab but it says it had the AOD tranny in it, are these interchangeable?

Depends on the length of the tranny, which I don't know off hand. If the AOD is shorter than the C6, you should be able to have the shaft shortened and the appropriate yoke(s) thrown on for about $50. If the AOD is longer, then your SOL. Also keep in mind what the transfer cases are, that plays into the length factor as well and whether or not yokes have to be swapped.

All that said, also figure this, figure the shaft can be cut down and that costs you $50, plus the cost of the shaft, plus shipping...last driveshaft I had built only cost me $150...food for thought.

Not the same, not even close, and the only F250 4WD's that came with the AOD had 302 engines.

You'd be faaar better off having your original driveshaft rebuilt than buying a pig-in-a poke that will not fit.
