OK folks, we're gonna do some measurements. When measuring piston wear, its noticed that 90 degrees from the wrist pin is the most wear. Why?

Because it is the portion of the piston that has the highest load and the pistons are all "cammed" in newer engines, meaning that they are narrower inline with the wristpin than they are on the thrust skirts even when new.
 
I'd say from the natural tendency to "rock" on the wrist pin, side to side?
