Hi Everyone:
I have a used 1988 Ford F-150 Lariat 5.0L 1/2 ton extended Cab (Supercab), which was on propane.
I have elected to put it back on gasoline.
I have all changeovers done in the engine compartment.
When I checked the fuel lines for the tanks to the reservoir, I found that the supply line for both tanks had been bent back over themselves at the tank end of the lines, and tie strapped back against the frame. The return lines (gray in color) are fine. When the supply lines were bend back over themselves, this caused the plastic/nylon material of the lines to kink.
I do not think that they will leak at the "kink".
This "kink" problem raises 2 questions:
1) Can the "kink" be removed, and suggestions as to how to do this, ( the "kinks" are about a foot in from the end of each supply line on the tank end, (the lines are color coded....One is Green, the other is Blue in color)?
2) Could I use rubber fuel line to replace the "kinked supply lines?
Ford claims replacement lines are no longer available!
Advice and suggestions would be most welcome.
Thanks
