distributor issues

Hey guys new hear so bare with me. If I'm not in the right spot let me know. Ok here is my situation. I have a 1968 F100 and I'll be getting a rebuilt 352 from my father that has a elderbrok 390 street performer intake but the distributor hole is a lot larger than my factory distributor shaft. So my question is is it supposed to be like that if so then what do I do about. I have searched all over the internet for a few days now and can't find anything so the help would be appreciated thanks in advance.

How much different is the size? They should be the same as far as I am aware. Your o-ring seal may have shrank or is missing.

It's about 2" or so.

2" difference, or 2" in total diameter?

2" total like if you would out the distributor in the block u can wobble it around.

Silly question, but is it the correct distributor?

Well it's the stock points distributor that came on my factory 360

Not a silly question at all The distributor I will be changing after a while to an HEI.
