I have an assortment of things I'm gonna discuss and ask questions about, so please share your thoughts and opinions:

1)Here's the crank pulley with the balancer that never separated. Anyone ever seen this before? Do you think it can be separated?

2) How in the hell do I get this out of the valve cover? I thought maybe it was threaded, nope. Tried pressing it out, nope. How do I get it out so I can throw a breather in it's place?

3) After looking at these pics, I think I'm gonna replace the line. But thought I'd ask and see if you guys thought it was passable for the time being. It's not crimped and there are no cracks.

4) My mother deemed this 'Operation Blue Oval Birdy'. This is the bird and nest that took up residence in Red's air intake tube. So here is the newest bird house at the Weisensel residence:

1) Yes, remove the 4 bolts holding the pulley to balancer and give it a couple light taps with a hammer. It will come off.

2) The grommet is hard as a rock. It is a press in fit (by hand) so it will probably break the grommet or plastic fitting getting it out.

3) Trans line? Cut it back a bit and rejoin it with a piece of rubber hose and your done. There is little pressure in a tranny line and the rubber hose will work fine.

4) Make sure the bird doesn't **** on your head when your on the porch.

1) Bolts are out, no light taps though...tomorrow. I was just surprised, cuz I've never had one come off in one piece like that.

2) I already put a screw driver through it...so it's already broken, I didn't realize it would be that difficult to get out.

3) So cut, hose and a couple hose clamps and call it done? I think I can handle that...haha.

4) I was just surprised mom was down with having parts that exposed. But I'll remember to wear a hat.

Thanks Scott.

Nothing really more to say here. If you don't mind the appearance look for the hose tip on the tranny line, same thing can be done with fuel lines. It may be a good idea to keep some rubber hose and some clamps and a tubing cutter in your toolbox so if a fuel line or tranny line springs a leak you can do a quick fix and your set.

On the pulley, they rust on like that all the time, plus they are a fairly snug fit to begin with.

The grommets are readily available to replace that, just got hard with heat and time.

Cut the trans line back a bit, re flare it, then straighten out the bend a little, never know it happened by looking at it. Don't worry, that happens all the time... Otherwise, the hose repair is common, no problem there.

Basically what everyone else said. Rubber hose works fine on the trans. line. I would choose that route over leaving that line the way it is.

1) Scott was right, a little persuasion with a dead blow and the balancer popped right off.

2) Got a breather on that VC...was not eay with the air box in the way though. I bought as short of a breather as a could and I don't that that valve cover will ever come out again.

3) Got the hose, got the nipple. When I put the radiator in, I'll see how it does.

4) The eggs have hatched, so now I get to listen to serene bird chirping while working.
