Custom mercury tailgait

New here. I've done a lot of changes to my 79 100 like 4.6/5speed and lowering over the years, now I wanna get an old already junk mercury gate and cut out the letters and weld them in my 79 gate. I just can't find a gate to use as I don't want to cut up a good one. I thought someone stamped these out at one time as that would make this easier. Any thoughts? Thanks, John

I might be out to lunch but I thought the Mercury ones were stamped right into the tailgate.
