coolant leak

03 ranger developed a coolant leak. Left (driver side) of the engine, a plastic looking tee connector just above the starter solonoid. 2.3L 4 banger is the engine in question. In looking at the ford parts catalog online, there is a hose listed as no longer being available, dealer to improvise. Anyone have any info or expereince with this?

Not the same application, but I replaced the same tee on an Aerostar with a brass tee from a parts house. Sorry, I don't remember the size of the tee. This one was on the top of the 4.0 engine, and was still pita to get at.

I replaced one on a explorer I had with a Pvc pipe fitting I had in my plumbing box.

Fixed this the other day while replacing the starter that it messed up by continually leaking in/on the solenoid. 1/2" pipe tee, 3/8" barb fitting and 2 5/8" barb fittings. 10-4 on the pita to get to. Got the heater hose barbs from the autoparts store, the rest from lowes.
