Hi all:
Yesterday I had my battery indicator light come on and the ammeter was reading about 10 volts. The battery light would come on and go off.
Cleaned the battery cables, clamps, and posts. The light and gauge were still acting up. Decided to run an errand, and about 3 miles from home the battery light went out, and the ammeter needle returned to about mid-range or normal.
I figured the battery was low and the cleaning I did allowed the battery to charge and turn the light off.
Well today the light came back on, but, the needle is showing a high rate of charge.....right over on the 18 marked on the gauge.
What could be causing this. The alternator was replaced last August 2010.
Bad regulator maybe?
