Cat converter snapping noise.

Well, after replacing my muffler (with a Cherry Bomb! Don't judge ) my catilytic converter has been making this loud snapping noise like the metal is expanding constantly. My temp is good and no hesitation. What do ya think it could be? Thanks!

Possibly (cheap muffler) but I did go under and it sounded like it was coming from the cat.

The ceramic inside may be loose from the metal body. I would check codes, and make sure that you don't have a fuel problem, that's burning out the cat

Funny you say that because I was thinking the same thing. I might ditch the Bomb and go with a Flowmaster 40 or 10 series like I was going to origonally.

This too has crossed my mind. No codes that I know of. I do need to do the plugs and I did change fuel brands and it has gotten a bit better. Have to force myself to do thoes damn plugs

Thanks! I've done all the research on the plugs. I happen to have the 2v with the infamous lack of threads in the head. Just going to have to bight the bullet and do it.
