Cat converter snapping noise.

Well, after replacing my muffler (with a Cherry Bomb! Don't judge:suspicious: ) my catilytic converter has been making this loud snapping noise like the metal is expanding constantly. My temp is good and no hesitation. What do ya think it could be?:headbang: Thanks!

The ceramic inside may be loose from the metal body. I would check codes, and make sure that you don't have a fuel problem, that's burning out the cat

Thanks.Traffic makes me feel that way sometimes!

maybe not enough backpressure to make the cat run correctly?

Funny you say that because I was thinking the same thing. I might ditch the Bomb and go with a Flowmaster 40 or 10 series like I was going to origonally.

This too has crossed my mind. No codes that I know of. I do need to do the plugs and I did change fuel brands and it has gotten a bit better. :guns: Have to force myself to do thoes damn plugs:headbang:
