Wow...musta missed this. But I would like to point out that this thread is a perfect example of chubby guys thinking their chit is gold plated. We Ford guys see that truck and say it's an $8-10k...if there was a comparable chubby, they'd say 20k. I just don't get the discrepancy. I'll admit, back in high school when I was flipping trucks I looked at a few chevy's...and with my ford background I thought I could get them for 1000-1500...owners come back with 4500-6000. Nuckin Futz.

That being said to the OP...if you paid 10k for the truck, it probably won't get any higher. These older pieces of steel seem to hold there value if restored/unmolested originals and don't go up over time. Sure, sometimes you get the ridiculously nice restore and can get 25k for it...but those are few and far between.

As for the 8ft FLAREside bed, they definitely exist. I've only seen 3 of them though...almost bought one as a matter of fact, but couldn't come up with the funds. Boy oh boy, what I wouldn't do to find another one.

Eh, it's not that dang important for people to get their panties in a twist over a name, chill out. If it was trademaked it could be a little different, and if it is, oh well. It is like calling locking pliers vise grips, or adjustable pliers channel locks... it becomes a common name even if it is trademarked... still not worth the bs that some like to give out over it.

Yea, but i would give ben chit bout it too. We know its all in good fun. :)

Um, i have figured out this entire thread.

Chevy guys have got to be ultra intelligent to buy stuff for 3 or 4 times the real value.

Or there are just SO many of them around that the supply and demand makes them worth more.
Cause i mean honestly, how many old chevies that are still in good condition do you see around?

It takes probably 20 or 30 "decent" parts trucks just to make one complete "decent" truck...
So, all the chevy lovers dont understand why fords are cheaper. Is it sad that a factory ford will out last the same year chevy even after the chev has had a full resto 30 years later?
:)

Yeah...I was merely ball busting Roger. Really I wouldn't give a damn if he called it pink pony hauling tub as long as I knew what he was talking about. And I like your explanation Don.

I made the same exact "mistake"... just get tired of the bickering about it sometimes... I knew you meant it in fun, but to the unknowing bystander, it may not seem the same.

Thats cause were not allowed to openly discuss boobies and booties on this site.
So we have to find something to bicker about, something simple so we can "multi task" and think about the previously mentioned topics while we bicker about b.s. bed names.

While we're talking about bed names...'flare' side really is kinda a ghey name on multiple levels. First being the modern vernacular for the word 'flare'. Secondly, Ford really couldn't think of a cooler name? For all I care, Access Bed woulda been better.

That being said, the main reason I try to call it a flare side at all times is because I don't need no stinkin Cheby guy thinking I want my ford to be like a cheby. However dumb that may sound, but I really am in ignorant hick chevy country, and they'll never shut up if they ever think they have the upper hand. That was apparent at Pinks All Out...which made it even sweeter when a 460 powered fox body won the whole event.
