Hey all, my first post here. I'm pretty much a chevy guy, but I thought I would come to a ford forum for some expert advice. Anyhow I stumbled upon this 72 ford truck. It is so dogone sweet I was literally trembling as I looked it over. I had to conceal much of my interest and was not able to take pics. but its gota be rare as ****... Its a '72 4x4 stepside long box 360 radio delete 4 speed. Has under 13000 original miles. Has never sat one day of it life outside. The guy is the original owner. Has all the documentation that ever came with it. Well I did not want to lowball the owner, so I made no offer. Beleive me, he knows he has a nice truck, but he will sell it. So I would like some feedback on a true value, maybe some idea of production numbers, things like that. thanks all

p.s. I'm no car jockey or dealer, I just dig old trucks.

i say that is a little much....

I was thinking8-10k... Max...
thats just me though.

x2. 8000 would be pretty fair imho.

Also consider the fact that it may need oil seals in everything due to sitting more than being driven...

Are you pretty sure it is what it looks like? I'm always very suspicious of such things...

If that thing is as unmolested as you say it is and hasn't been sitting, but in good running condition, I am willing to bet you could sell it for more than $8k. We probably wouldn't pay $8k for it, but there are collectors who would :)

And they are dumbasses imho.

No vehicle post 1956 is ever going to be worth what a pre 1957 is worth.

Just the simple truth.

Take my truck for instance. It's an original first year SuperCab (1974.5).

Even in like new condition, I'd bet be lucky to get $7,500 out of it.

Later models just aren't worth money.

It depends on what it's worth to you. What we paid for my Bronco many people wouldn't pay that much but it was worth that money to us.

Geez guys, a bit suprised at the posts. Yup, the truck is as described. Sure we are are lookin for that one collector thats willin to pay crazy money for for what he doesn't have. Where is he now. I hate to even mention the word chevy on this site, but believe me, if this was a chevy, there would be bunches of attemps to buy this truck by now. Jeez, this thing has gotta be rare and your worried about some seals? Hey the tires have some dry rot too!
C'mon, for 8 grand you cant even buy a decent boob job for your ol'lady. I might as well let it sit there for a few more years.

Pictures seal the deal.Without pictures, you can't come close to even guessing the value of a vehicle. When I look at Craigslist and other sites like it,if there aren't pics,I tend to skip over the ad.

if its in GREAT condition and i say GREAT as in no rust runs good drives good. doesnt look like chit... with it being a long bed Flareside w/360 4spd. its worth a good 8k. without a doubt.

I've seen chev's with 8 foot stepsides, but never any 70's Fords. Not saying there isn't any, I've just never seen any. That would make me suspicious, I'm a pretty serious Ford guy. If you could post some pics, I would really be interested in seeing what it looks like. Kinda makes me wonder if it's a custom bed or somthing. Anyone else ever heard of one?

I had a 71 with 8' step side that had been swapped off for service boxes on the side, but the box itself was original, so they do exist. I didn't take any pics since it ended up being a parts truck.

I ignored this one back in March because of the difference in tone between posts 1 and 12. Is this guy buying or selling?????

Claims he isn't a car jockey or dealer but post 12 sure sounds like he's at least a bounty hunter at best, troll at worst. I call BS!
