Hey guys,

I am looking at purchasing a cab visor for my 97 F250 HD. The one I am looking at: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/KRE-12159/

It is by Keystone Restyling, anyone have products manufactured by them?

Also, would any of you recommend installing one by myself or have it professionally installed?

Thanks,

Mike

i know several people who have them & just love them.with the help of a friend, they are pretty easy to install.just gotta make sure you get them centered, before you screw them into place.being fiberglass use caution as to not overtighten & possibly crack the unit.

I had one on my bronco. Prepped it, painted it body color on the top and flat black underneath. Seal the screws well to prevent rust and dab some on the screw heads to keep the screw caps from falling off. The troughs the screws are in hold water. Even when moving, unless you are out on the highway some water will puddle in there. The unit was sturdy and did a great job of hiding traffic lights.

get some body panel adhesive to put under mounting points . I had same lund visor on 5 different trucks and still would if not for MPG loss.

But they can come loose over time and strip holes . Easy fix when time comes tho .

Yes Show trucks lol, i like clean. I drilled holes and tapped em 5/16 and used stainless allens with lock washers and flat washers, used clear silicone to seal holes.

Thanks again all for your input. I decided to have it professionally done. The price was right, it will be done in a few hours this coming Monday, and I'm not at all comfortable drilling holes in my own cab. I will be sure to post a pic
