I think the rubber is for the fender flare.

A tutone rig always needs something to break up the colors...very nice man. And I'm thoroughly digging the stripes on the hood as well.

I didnt do them, a customer at our shop does them, and he just happened to be in this week for some work on his van, so I asked. The rubber piece keeps the flare from scratching the paint, too bad it falls off all the time, its annoying.
