Yes, but you should be fine with just drilling and tapping

When you say cherry red, do you mean the stud? Or the head around the stud?

Yes the stud. Use a Acetylene torch. Map and propane won't get it hot enough.

If you can reach it with a punch slightly smaller that the bolt. Put it on the bolt and tap is to just to jar the bolt a little do this while applying the penetrating oil (I recommend Kroil if you can find it, great stuff) The vibration from the punch and tapping helps wick the oil through the threads mating surfaces and may help it break loose when you attempt to remove it. A reverse style drill does work well and the trick with easy-outs is to know when to stop. Tapping on the easy-out helps too. Good luck. Redxlt

Tap it. You did a good job drilling them out. Outstanding job really. Tap it and stop wasting your time. LOLOL Helicoil is the last resort. IMHO

Well, I have almost finished tapping the front hole, (the right one in the picture). It is a little crooked, but not to bad. I think it will work.

Well, in the end, every option failed except drilling them out and re-tapping.
