Best way to raise the front end?

I need lift in the front. Ideas?

I'd like to make up 3 inches if I can. I'm suspicious that part of my problem (in addition to the add-a-leaf) is a saggy original front spring.

Should I just get new front springs?

Should I get a leveling kit set of springs?

Is there a cheap or easy way to do this?

I'm also concerned about the best way to accomplish the lifting without adding EXTRA tire wear to the outside tires with the twin i-beam setup.

I would use a jack. Floor jack probably. :D

Is it 2wd or 4x4? 2wd, I believe you can have the beams bent to correct the toe in for the lift.

I may also be high, that is a possibility.

ha. I'm not into bending my axle beams. I'd rather just deal with the front end being way too low. I was looking at broncograveyard and was thinking maybe the 1 1/2"-2" lift springs (designed more for leveling) would be the best option. If they don't cut the mustard, I could just start using coil spring spacers to get it where I want.

Oh, and it's 2wd.

Is it 2wd?

I only think bending beams applies to the old (70's) 2wds, as there was no adjustment for the Toe. That was very common way, and still applies to a lot of the desert racers, and people that lift older 2wds.

I have no idea what truck you are talking about though, i am guessing the sig truck, but I am loopy as all heck right now. :D

I agree with the new coil springs. The ones in my truck are weak, and it makes the truck sit kinda low in the front.

Am I wrong by assuming it is the truck in the sig?

you get better gas mileage that way to! :wasntme:

I would say just get new regular springs, not the leveling ones, They might bring it up higher in the front than in the back.

(my solution to this would probably be weight be bed down, or deal with it...) :rolling laugh:

Yeah, 1994 F-150 2wd Standard Cab

The back is no longer at stock. There is a 6" difference between the front and back. My goal is to close the gap by about half to retain the stock 3" difference! I have to make up some ground because the back end is launching due to the extra super heavy springs I put in it.

Oh, that is quiet a bit of gap! :rotz:

Leveling springs might be better then..

how much lift do you want, or are the fronts just really sagging? are the current coils stock height? How level do you want it? Do you want it raked?

I went with a Pro-Comp 2" leveling kit on my 95 F150, but it was a 4x4, they were good quality and have not sagged in over 2 years now.

doesn't matter your pro-comps would work on Ryans truck anyways...when you get new springs don't worry if the front sticks up a little higher than the back..the springs are gonna take a bit to settle in.....or you could just drop the back and level her out.

Currently I'm riding on 15 year old stock 2wd front coils.

I'd like to make up 3 inches.

I have a suspicion that a replacement stock coil would raise it an inch just because the current ones are probably sagging. From there, I think the 2 inch leveling kit would bring it up even further. I think with a 2" leveling coil, I can probably make up 3 inches. If it still isn't quite enough, I can gain a half inch or an inch on a coil spacer.

I want a little bit of rake. It's 2wd, so I don't want a wanna-be 4wd truck.

The Kalifornia method would be to drop the rear 6", not lift the front. Just saying... :rolling laugh: (I actually did this on two 2wd Silverados- just levelled them out).

Well I just installed new springs in the back and this is where it left it! lol. I'm not lowering the back!! I put the add-a-leaf in there (it was level before it) because the payload was absolutely terrible with the new springs I got.

So... I'm no mechanic. Leaf springs are pretty self-explanitory. This coil spring is presenting itself as less intuative.

How the heck is the best way to replace the coil spring?
