Best way to raise the front end?

There are little retainers that hold it in place, unbolt them, and replace the springs. a couple jacks will help to jack the axle back up when you bolt it in place. again, all my experience is with 4x4, but it should work the same.

That's all it looked like to me, but I figured it was deceptive.

So just jack it up at the frame and let the beams fall?

Do you figure I'll need a spring compression tool?

I didn't, I just jacked the frame up. The beam will travel farther than the spring will droop. You can muscle it, or use another jack to lift the beam back up to bolt it back in.

Your beam may not fall as much due to sway bars, I have taken my sway bars off, front and rear, so my beams fell more.

Its really cake. I replaced both springs, and shocks in less than an hour, with plenty of frosty beverage breaks. :D

Recommended brew for spring swaps? And what kind of intake intervals are appropriate?

I don't have sway bars, so that's one less thing to worry about. Now I just need to pick out springs. There's so many options and there's no difference (to a guy like me.) Any spring experts out there? Or sprexperts for short?

Guinness was my choice, but its up to you. I am not a sprexpert, but if I remember your were gonna look for like a 2 inch lift coil, right? My procomps worked good and were cheap. Still haven't sagged with a 351 on top of them.

So I got to thinking... Will I need camber adjustment, or will the i-beams just absorb it and plant the tires flat? I don't even see how you can adjust camber on these trucks. You could do toe with tie rods and caster with the radius arm... but I don't see any camber options.

there are little camber adjuster eccentric. they look like this:

You can see them when you look at the top of the knuckle. An alignment shop will have them, which you will want to get done after you lift the front end to avoid wrecking your tires. TTB wear tires out fast when the camber is out of adjustment.

Those bushing will adjust for camber and castor.
