Now you'll be going the other extreme. and you'll be winding out if you go highway driving. Usually I reserve 4.88's for 37-40" tires.

More and more power but less and less fuel milage.

Well yeah, cuz he'll run out of engine...OP, cruising down the highway at 3200rpm isn't that great of an idea. Unnecessary engine wear and there comes a point where the benefits are negligible or start doing more harm than good. Rule of thumb, you want to be under 2600rpm at cruising speed.

That seems a little high especially with an OD tranny.

are you serious? it feels normal for the specs of my truck. but when i first got it the idle was way up, 2600. now it idles at about 900-1000 on start up then drops to about 500 or a little more. (cant tell anymore though, my tach broke)

I'm at 2500rpms doing like 60 or so. I don't have a speedometer so I'm just guessing. It's rather annoying.

yea. but has anyone considered the gear ratio helper thingamagig on the super swamper interco website? it seems helpful. original size 29.5 to 35 im going to get the gears before the end of the month.

just throwing this out there. my rpm with 35-13.5-15 toyoz+3.55's = was about 2230, at 65

The only way that would happen is in Drive which is a 1:1 ratio. The other issue though is if you haven't recalibrated your speedo for those tires you're actually doing 80mph when the speedo says 65.

^ thats what i meant when i typed i have the speedo issue covered.

No you don't have it covered, the speedo has a much more important role than informing the driver how fast he is going. The computer uses the speed input signal to determine how the transmission is controlled so it is very important to the operation and life of the trans to have a functioning and accurate speedo.
The odometer is also driven off this signal and it too reads low when bigger tires are installed and that makes fuel milage look worse than it actually is because the vehicle is travelling further than the odometer indicates.
So say for example you get what appears to be 175mi out of a tank with your 35's, that's about 9.7mpg. Problem is you have actually gone 218mi so your real milage is 12mpg.
