Bleh, I don't like tape! The PO left the marker lights on the truck while painting around them. Took me all of 3 minutes to remove them [confused] But they've been tape clad for about 4 months now.

Thanks Dennis.

I'm still not sure if I want to paint the bases or not. I think it will clean them up, but I kinda don't want to mess with them.

Thank you 78F250SCCS for being awesome! I got some EB FSB trim off of him. Way cool!

Anywho, a little modding is needed for a proper fit. My only hurdle is what was the window/rear defrost buttons - my fuel tank selector has to go in there... I'm scheming.

Any takers? I have the radio trim too.

I'm happy its going into another truck. Better than being crushed this summer. Can you swap the Rear Window tag for the Fuel tag? And then have a open spot for some other type of switch.

Thanks again. I haven't played with it yet, but it looks like I'll be able to fab up room for both the fuel switch and an aux light switch.

This post is for Steven, who dealt his way into getting some insulation at discount while at the Auto Fair. :D

I bought a roll of the stuff and grabbed some 3M spray adhesive. Learned real quick that fiber fill doesn't like razor blades... or scissors... or misc sharp objects I own.

Plan was to clean up the surface (using magic erasers - my best friend while detailing boats, btw) then apply the insulation in strips.

This was about as far as I was going; too much like work.

(Note the rust spots... read more in the next post)

Laptop for tunes, marker for... marking.

Looks like a hack job, but I didn't want it all in 1 piece for optimal attachment.

I also took a moment to clean up the seat belts.

I took some time to try out the Rusoleum rust reformer (say that 3 times fast!) on the frame and parts of the cab floor.

Let me start off by saying that I thought somebody poured sun block into the container; smells and looks just like it. :D

Application is straight forward; just brush it on.

After a few minutes it looks like it all disappeared... it's there; I promise!

Takes 4 hours to 'cure', but I beg to differ. I let it sit over night. What you get is dead rust and a black primer.

6 hours of work into the truck today. Jambs and doors as well as fenders. No pics of that because I was excited about this:

Broke out the paint remover and removed... not paint! There's a little pitting, but it's a nice 20 foot touch.

Yep, but if it's kept up every now and then it should do well... maybe I'll hit it with some high heat clear

Austin. If you get this truck looking nice, I will personally ship you a beautiful stainless steel tip.

Ryan

:wavey: If you insist! I'm aiming to have it DONE this week; I've been slacking.

No paint today, but I did install my new reverse lights... aka "You've pissed me off because you're tailgating me at night" lights. :D
