No seriously though. Chris said they carry the standard rustoleum colors like your brown and the other generics, but they carry GM colors as well. None for Ford!

Ryan

Hmph! That's something. :suspicious:

Does Rustoleum make Ford colors?

I know a lot of paint manufacturers have implement paint in most of the factory colors (JD green, Ford blue, etc.) but the only factory-match car paints I've seen are the DupliColor ones they have at auto parts stores. Never looked, though...my white Ranger is doggone near regular Rustoleum white. Close enough for what I need to do, anyway.

Did a test... shot some brown on the door and taped off the bottom section of the door. Paint kept on going. :headbang:

I let it all dry and taped off again, then put a flat black on the bottom part. Besides the runs, it looks pretty good!

Mind you, this is not final. I plan on putting more effort into perfecting the paint line and taping.

Got a fair amount done today... won't be able to do anymore until the weekend.

Primed and painted the hood release and support.

Got a couple of rolled on coats on the passenger side.

I already had a couple of coats on the back of the cab. Finished it up today.

Decided it's not time to do a full strip on the frame, so some primer and a satin black should suffice. Not the finished product!

One more coat or two to go on the bed. Then I can put it on the truck! Bedliner is down the road... don't want to touch that until after paint.

The brown looks HOT with black wheels.

Thanks Duncan. I'm really itching to see the final product now that I have that little bit left. Hopefully I can get some help to get the bed back on the truck before week's end!

I'm pleasantly surprised at how well some of these rolled jobs turn out!

It's all about the prep work, which I seem to skimp on because I'm impatient. But if time is taken and proper care is had between coats it comes out nice.

I will say that if I do this again, I will have everything off of the truck. Doors, trim, handles, fenders... it would make it much easier to have a better final product.

First thing...that does look pretty damn good.

Secondly, that's an awful lot of brown, I still say some cream and black accents or pinstripes would really set it off and break up all that brown.

I was always told prep work is 95% of the battle, but I'm like you, no patience. And also like you, I create more work for myself by just trying to mask everything off...and then go back and end up doing it the way I should have in the first place.

I'm going with plenty of black accents after all is said an done. The lower portion will be in a statin or flat black.

If I hold onto it, expect a frame off in 10 years or so. :D
