Those colors appear to have a pearl to them...in which case, no they wouldn't be factory. I also don't ever remember seeing anything close to that top color before on a stock rig.

That top color looks a little like a gen-9 color. Can't tell if they're the same or not; the gen-9 might have a little more "pinkish" tint.

That top color looks a lot like--or could be--the color of a '93 F 150 my dad had. I actually remember the name of it because the name was so fruity...it was called "Mocha Frost".

Regardless of the name, it was still a nice color.

Nice truck. I don't think it is a factory color.

This is an apropos name for this thread. :rolling laugh:

Anyone have a clue...where this picture was taken?

The owner of this truck had a full Marti Report on an easel (out of camera range to the left) that included a copy of the original build sheet that lists these two original paint colors.

While this pic was being taken, I was talking to the owner of this truck (out of camera range) in the right background.

Besides myself, FTF members Bricks and Bill W were there, and so was Ben's old pal, the little weasel, though thankfully...I didn't see him.

The pic was taken at the annual (2009) F100 Western Nationals Truck Show held on June 21st at Featherly Park in Yorba Linda, CA.

btw:

COLOR code E = Medium Beige Metallic (F100/350), Burnt Amber (LTD/Thunderbird); Aegean Bronze Metallic (Lincoln), Cinnamon (Mercury).

M = Wimbledon White.

This COLOR code info is from the 1967 Ford factory paint chart the dealers used at the parts counter.

These are not pics of the colors, the individual color chips are glued to the chart...all I had to do was compare colors.

Anyone have a clue? It would appear not.

Just because y'all haven't seen this color before...does not mean it's not original.

How many of y'all were even around in 1967, or knew what colors Ford painted vehicles back then?

How many of y'all have ANY factory literature, regardless of what year your old rolling pile of miseries is?

I was around then but only 2 years :)
I have factory literature for many years of stuff I have never owned. I go to auctions and buy up all that stuff.
I have all the old Paint chip books from the late 50"s to mid 80's. working on getting a set of the 90's and 2000 chip books from a friend.

Questions would not be asked, if answers came automatically.
Many times, judgments are based on experience. For some, experience comes in parts numbers, paint codes, and the like. For others, it comes in innovation, design and development. most of us have to rely, like henry ford said, by surrounding ourselves with those who know, rather than filling our head with facts. Most have had little-to-no exposure to these time-honored facts. so questions like this get asked. Part of the human condition, I guess.

Another question- Who said, "Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success. "?

Careful Bill, I've got a lot of it! Just a little slim past 10 years old.
Uh...considering what you do for a living, I'd be surprised if you did not have all this jazz.

Most ppl on the internet that own these old piles have no literature ...at all.

And...what amazes me is...there's more literature available today that the general public can access...then there was way back when.

All the 1948/89 car & truck parts catalogs are available on CD's from hipoparts.com. How many ppl have any?

AFAIK, on t'other site, only THREE ppl have one that covers 1973/79 F100/350's/Econolines.

How many ppl have any parts catalogs that cover 1966/79 Bronco's? I don't know of anyone that has diddly-squat!

FY1: 1966/72 Bronco parts are listed in the 1965/72 Ford Passenger Car Parts Catalog / 1973/79 Bronco parts are listed in the 1973/79 Ford Passenger Car Parts Catalog.

All sorts of original factory literature is available on ebay. How many ppl on these internet sites buy any of it?

There are dozens upon dozens of books available on the history of Ford trucks/cars.

How many ppl have any?

How many ppl have: The Standard Catalog of Light Duty Ford Trucks 1905/2002 / krause.com / ISBN: 0-87349-411-3.

On t'other site, I know of exactly two ppl that have it...both are owners of 1965's.

This book has all sorts of jazz including VIN decode info, production figures, optional accessories, what the various packages came with...and etc.

And...when y'all buy a copy of this book...you get all this info for less than 25 bucks! The CD parts catalogs are about the same price.

People that belong to the myriad Ford related car & truck clubs usually have as much literature as they can find.

On the internet...it's a different story. Most ppl that I have come across only know it's a Ford, cuz it says so on the vehicle somewhere. :rotz:

Yeah, I know...you all think I'm a crabby old SOB and a first class azzhat.. Yes...I admit that is the case, and I'm proud of it!

But...I'm also very well informed...that's more than I can say for some of y'all.

I have a Ford service manual from 1964. I'll have to pull it out to tell you the details of exactly what it is, but there were a couple of times it was an invaluable resource.

You should get a commission for that push, Bill ;)

Probably sold a couple hundred books, right there!

Still, there are milleniae of young people coming of vehicle ownership age who ONLY know the internet as a reference source. Still others who don't have a library with a decent reference section for hundreds of miles.
They see what they like, and want to know more- so they post in sites like ours. Nothing wrong with that.

Dennis, most ppl on the net that know of you...know you are VERY well informed.

Why? Because you are heavily into this stuff as I am.

Yes, I understand that many ppl are not into this jazz as we are...but c'mon...they should have something...anything...considering how EZ it is to find today.

I'm still waiting on mine to show up in the mail. Seems someone told me close to a year ago they were going to be sending me some literature. I'll have to see if I can find that thread again and see who that was........
