Cam (Comp cams 35-351-8)
Gt40 heads
4.10 gears

and you will be HAULING ***

cheap side.. bump the intake to 12 BTDC
Free flowing exhuast
and a good tune up with ford racing plug wires and msd blaster coil not the msd box it wont do squat for our trucks..

so is an efan an add on or does it replace your belt driven fan?

ive looked at efans and they arent bad price wise for the benifits it suosedly has...im all about learnin about what om buyin before i buy it...skandocious knows this....we had to have a discussion over gatorback belts (fixed that btw..diff story for another day) .....what causes the power boost...im asuming is cause it cools better and requires less power?

Less air drag on the entire accessory belt. It's pretty parasitic, so it just runs when it has to on electricity that's already been produced. The E-Fan is a win-win really.

Like Ryan said, the fan adds drag on the belt system. Problem is, the clutch is not 100% efficient; if it were, it would disengage completely when the engine doesn't need the cooling. But that doesn't happen, so even when the fan is not needed (which is the MAJORITY of the time), your engine is still working to turn that beast.

E-fan only comes on when needed, and uses electricity which DOES create a load on the alternator, which puts load on the pulley and eventually creates a load on the belt, but the load is substantially less than that of the clutch fan bolted to the water pump.

It'll give you some nice oomph and possibly some more mpg's (don't expect a lot). I think I saw about .5 mpg better with the efan.

If you're worried about cost then get an efan from a t-bird at a junkyard. You're looking for any 90s t-bird with a V8 or a 3.8L V6. It'll have a fan that pushes more than enough air for your V8. This is a very common mod in the bronco community.

No sir. The efan just bolts onto the front of your water pump pulley. Remove the bolts and the fan will separate from the pulley, and the pulley will fall off. Remove fan and replace the 4 bolts to reattach the pulley.

much more simple than i pictured.....i gotcha....and theres no wiring to run is there?....it seems like a simple bolt on procedure...i like simple bolt ons....im nt afrait to dive in an engine but im a major fan of simplicity

Sorry-- there's quite a bit of wiring actually  Just to illustrate, here is my wiring diagram that I designed for my fan setup:

As you can see I've got 3 relays, a 3-position switch, a temperature operated switch, and several fuses that are not pictured in the diagram. It's not a super easy setup but mine is also a little more complex than some others. There are plenty of walkthroughs on the net-- just google "taurus fan swap" (the taurus fan is another common one to use... tbird is better).
