after about 3000 rpm the volt meter goes FULL and batt light comes on!

i just installed a 3G alt in the truck but it was fine after a few revs but this afternoon after 3000 rpm or so the volt guage goes 18+ and everything turns bright and the small batt light comes on im lucky i havent fried anything yet..

sounds like the Voltage Regulator is toast. get it tested.

i think your right, im gonna go by napa monday and have it tested

yeah cause the Voltage regulator should be counteractiung the higher pulley speed to keep the charging consistant around 13-14 volts.
