Got a belt on the compressor today and it works pretty dang good. smilieFordlogo

Question of the day: Air only comes out of the defrost vents, not the regular vents. What be wrong?

You have a vacuum problem. I assume this is on your Superduty..... Diesels make no vacuum so they have a vacuum pump to work things like the blend door in the heater/AC box.

Not a vacuum problem, huh. Looks like it has something to do with the mechanical mechanisms under the dash. Look below:

The gray piece rotates to control defrost/vent/floor.. By moving it to the left, it does indeed turn on the vents, then the floor. Also note that the gold bar should be attached to the end of the gray piece. I connected it, but using the controls on the dash nothing happened. I tried manually moving the gray piece again, but the gold bar sprang back to the defrost setting.

I had an epiphany today! Got to looking around the engine bay and put 2 and 2 together. The vacuum switch doesn't work properly because... drum roll... THERE'S NO BELT ON THE VACUUM PUMP!

Now I know. :D
