96 f250 351w with firing issues

I have a 96 f250 that has been having firing issues. When its cold it turns over and fires quickly. If I stop for gas or even food for an hour, it turns over but takes 3-5 seconds to fire and there is a really strong smell of fuel. It dissipates in a minute or two.

My very humble opinion seems to be the injectors are leaking into the cylinder causing it to flood. But who knows I'm kind of clueless.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It can be the injectors, the other possibility is the pressure regulator is leaking, letting fuel in through the vacuum line.

I also go with the bad pressure regulator.
It will fill your charcoal canister, and this will also eventually blow out the check valve in your return line at your in tank pumps, causing it to overflow whatever tank you are not using, when you are on the other tank.
You need to get this repaired asap.

x2 on the fuel pressure regulator. Pull the vacuum hose off of it while it is running to see if there is fuel coming out. Quick and very easy test.
