ey everyone i got an update-i just wrecked my 92 reg cab flare side off the highways 7FT (maybe) (due to an blown tire) steep drop destroying the front end and i am wondering if i can swap my 351w into a 1990 f150 302's place. and my e40d trans into its place. ( i forgot what) with no problem BUT. the 1990 IS a long bed same ifs and 8.8 rear. reg cab but this 90 has a eight inch lift while my 92 has a 6in suspension and 3 body. any bad encounters to watch for or just a no go with this swap? ????

Whats wrong with the tranny in the new truck?

well it was my bro's before and he was running 40's goin crazy on some hill hit a big rock and twisted the driveshaft and shoved it into the trans case and somehow messed up the transmission and the engine seized up so im thinking about doing another project

Should swap over... I assume your takin everything to the longbed truck, or you fixin the flare back up?

shoot i'd love to fix up the flare no doubt. but the front end got REAL messed up and where the radius arms meets the frame. well they bent the frame inward on impact. so. im dealing with a bent frame, front end, grill pass fender and bumper and push bar got bent pretty good up front but everything back from the radius arms is perfectly fine.

so could i still keep the e4od that was turning a short shaft and just get the length of the long shaft? is that what youre saying? the long bed drive shaft is still around so if that's the case i can use it for reference

The 2 trans r a different length . So shaft length differ. From a reference

If you were in PA I throw truck on frame machine You'd be surprised what can be fixed.
