I sure do miss running the ol' 6.9, had a power loss issue when a mechanic diesel tech friend was running it, and then his uncle tried to help. Took the top timing cover off to take the injection pump off, and has been hell since. Kinda looking like the 7.3 gear may be one tooth different than the 6.9, as it has gotta be off on timing... I'm stuck with the 88 5.8 gasser, while it does well, it just isn't the same as the diesel...

Yea, it's hell trying to get the timing right with that cover removed....

Oh, I took the front cover off to set it up, and the 7.3 gear was dead on, but I advanced the pump as far as it would go, and it was just starting to get better, but I was out of adjustment. I plan on swapping back to the 6.9 gear whenever I get a chance to work on it again, that likely is gonna be a while...
