88 F250 Value...

Hey there,

I'm considering buying an 88 f250 x-cab with the gas 460 engine. Body has oxidation but is straight without dings. Needs a paint job eventually but has 43k original miles.

What would you all consider paying for such a rig? Most value guides don't go back that far. Some consider this old of vehicle a "classic" and price it around 6k.

THOUGHTS appreciated.

Thanks.

doubt has 43k.. the odometers roll over in this trucks when you hit 100k...

depends on your area that you live and if its 4wd or not...

down south...2wd... and this is if the truck is near perfect... including paint.. 3k tops...

4x4 like 4k tops...

up north it just goes up..

only worth 6k if its 4x4 truely and documented 43k miles, and body and paint everything was perfect, doesnt leak anything doesnt need anything to drive for next 2-3 years issue free, and is up north with no rust..

It's got some light rust spots on frame but none on body. Interior is mint condition. Documented 43k. Original tires were just replaced. 4 x 4 vehicle out of Montana. Not a pristine garaged kept rig but runs perfect.

Is the injected 460 a solid engine or were there any common problems to watch out for?

A truck like that would be 10k up here and as far as I know the 460 was pretty solid, a bit heavy on fuel but that would be expected.

People pay what they think it's worth. I bought a excellent 95 4x2 Eddie Bauer F 150 For $600 last year. Took 1st place in the first show I put it in.

On the other hand, I wouldn't take less than $6,000 for my 89 F 350 4x4

Quoted for truth. I paid $2500 for a '89 F250 HD 4WD with 95,000 miles and a brand new 460 ford replacement engine about 4 years ago. The body is in very good shape, and the interior is immaculate.
