What Automatic trans came in a 88 F150? I came across a 88 F150 donor truck with a 302 and Auto trans all original what do I need to get to do a swap, flex plate, trans, driveshaft, steering column, kick down linkage?
Is the starter diffferent for a manual and a auto trans?
Anything else needed?

it depends.. it could be C6 or AOD and maybe E4OD not 100% sure on that one...
starters are essentially the same except the nosecone is different and they are interchangable.

Flex plate, trans, driveshaft, steering column, kick down link, TRANS CROSSMEMBER, ECU possibly..

The starter is matched to the flywheel, for obvious reasons. If the new trans needs a different flywheel (and it probably does) then it will also need a different starter.

Chris I am doing a Manual to Auto Swap. That is why I asked what Auto trans came in a 88 F150.

Oh I misunderstood. Well the the needed parts should be mostly the same as that picture except switch out manual-specific parts for auto specific parts-- ie, instead of a floor shifter you need a new column with a shifter there. And of course you need to delete the entire clutch system, which requires a new ebrake pedal assembly (in gen 9's and probably 8's the clutch and ebrake pedals are all 1 assembly that comes out in 1 piece). Also a floorpan cap to cover the hole in the center hump after the shifter comes out

The e brake pedal is separate from the clutch and brake pedal, I had to replace it when I first got the truck so I could use the e brakes. Couldn't I leave the manual pedals?

No I believe Jurgen had an 88 with an E4OD. And I also believe the c6 was offered too.
No E4OD's in F150's until 1990.

1981/89 F150 302 2WD/4WD: Either a C6 or an AOD.

A/T vs M/T: The brake pedals are different, as is the bracket the pedal(s) suspend from under the dash.

E4TZ-2455-A .. Brake Pedal-Use with A/T / Applications: 1984/91 F150/350, F(Super Duty) & Bronco.

E4TZ-2455-B .. Brake Pedal-Use with M/T / Same applications as above.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
E7TZ-2L252-A .. Brake Pedal Bracket-Use with A/T / Applications: 1987/91 F150/350, F(Super Duty) & Bronco.

FOTZ-2L252-B .. Brake and Clutch Pedal Bracket / Applications: Same as above.
