557 drag times

Well guys,I just got towed home from 75&80 dragway. My first pass was 11.32 @ 116.5 mph with the rear jumping off the ground leaving the line. I let a little air out the tires and adjusted the timing and came back to make run 2. I did a good burn out and came to the line. When I left the line the pinion went through the housing-not good. I think it can go a high 10 with traction and the right conditions.smiliegitrdone smiliegitrdone smiliegitrdone

That's not what I meant.
In the pic that Axle looks it was pulled out of a junk yard..
It's encrusted with oil, mud and junk, was the Axle OLD if it's a 30 year old axle then wonder it failed.

9" rear ends were discontinued in the early eighties - so they're all OLD, as far as that goes.

I doubt that had anything to do with it though....
