That has always been a debate, run it easy to break it in, or run it how it will be run for the rest of it's service life... It is no different than a new car in that respect...

As far as break-in concerned, I believe in putting a proper load on the engine.. Moderate acceleration from stop signs, etc... No more 3500ish RPM. Be more concerned about ring seal at this point.
