So here's my question guys. About a year ago I went and got 'leveling springs' on the front end of my 1994. It's a 2wd truck. When I did the Add-A-Leaf in the back, it stood up way too high so I added an inch or so to the front to help level it out.
Anyway, when I did that, the mechanic took off my bilsteins and put on rancheros... damnit. Now the rancheros are already shot. If I put some weight on the front and bounce the truck, it bounces 6-7 times until it finally quits. The shocks are totally shot. I have a feeling it's because he put on the wrong height shock or something.
These springs are rated at the stock compression rate, I think. I believe these are the ones I used.

I guess my question is... How do I pick the right shock? Or should I buy one of the adjustable bilstein sets? If I do, how much should a shock compress? How much taller should the shock be than the mounts on the truck when it's on a flat-level surface, totally at rest?
