1968 F100 Turn Signals - work like hazards

Hello all,

I have recently acquired a 1968 F100. The electrical system in fair condition. Most of the electrical works since I got the truck with the exception of the Turn signal/Brake light/Steering column switch. The turn signal switch on the steering column is physically broken and the wires look like they were cut years ago.

I am using this diagram as reference:
http://www.fordification.com/tech/wiring/68-23.jpg

I have replaced two flashers one for turn signal and one for emergency hazard both were cylinder shape. I replaced the brake pedal (stop switch)

Here's what works:

Park lights - half pull on on the light switch the front and rear lights are on.
Headlights - full pull on on the light switch the headlights turn on park lights turn off (true to stock)
Brake lights - I connected each of the brake light wires #9 -Green w/ Orange stripe and #5 Orange w/ Blue stripe to the green wire (810 in the diagram)

Here's what doesn't work:

Every time I connect any of the turn signal switch wires or combination of wires to the 12v #44 Blue wire from the turn signal flasher, they all blink as if the emergency hazard lights are on.

I cannot isolate any one or two bulbs to flash, any wire connected to the #44 12v will make all bulbs flash. I cannot isolate one side of the truck bulbs to flash and show I am turning left or right.
I understand that the emergency hazard switch may be an option for this truck but I did have the additional flasher and cannot locate any emergency hazard switch.

Wires I am working with (Turn Signal Switch Wires):

#44 Blue 12v

Front Left Driver #3 Green w/ White stripe
Rear Left Driver #9 Green with orange stripe

Front Right Passenger #2 White w/ Blue stripe
Rear Right Passenger #5 Orange w/ Blue Stripe

#10 As mentioned above - I connected each of the brake light wires #9 -Green w/ Orange stripe and #5 Orange w/ Blue stripe to the green wire (#10/ from #810#/810A in the diagram)

I am using this link for reference as a wiring diagram:

I am using this article as a reference to quickly get a functional turn signal switch using a 3 position (on-off-on) toggle:

don't play well w others
Have you checked the bulbs? Sometimes when a bulb blows, The filament crosses the park light filament, and all lights blink

Thank you for your feedback. Luckily all the lights were working and the issue was resolved when I found the wires to what should be the hazard switch in the glove box the previous owner twisted the wires together, taped them then stuck them all behind the glove box. Once I found them I free the wires and now I am able to isolate the brake lights and turn signals.
