Grill On

Got the grill stripped and polished used the oven cleaner to strip had to do it twice.
Polished with Mothers Mag and Aluminum Polish and wool pad. Painted the plastic grill and headlamp pieces.
Looking for a chrome bumper but may go with the painted one that came on truck for now.

The receiver hitch under the grill is for my Honda EU3000is generator I carry on my other truck like this https://www.dropbox.com/s/7jqvrr1y5s4zytf/2012-06-16 09.37.24.jpg

I lowered the generator carrier about 8 " lower than the picture so it will not block air flow on the CS.
Every time I opened the camper door when it was on my 08 350 there was always someone outside checking out my red camper setup.
Can't wait to get it on the period correct 79 CS. Next project will be find me an old Airstream camper to pull.

Reworked Tail Gate Hinge

Being I need to remove my tail gate when hauling truck camper I did not want to have to unbolt the hinge every time. So I reworked the hinge and tailgate to match my 2008 so I can take off the tail gate by removing support straps open it about 1/4 way lift up on right side and remove.

I cut off each side of right hinge at an angle leaving 1" in the middle. Welded up the open holes on each side left by cutting with scrap pieces of 1/8" plate. Ground down the welds cleaned it up and bolted to bed. Then cut a corresponding cut in bottom of tail gate to match hinge test fit by inserting tail gate in left side then dropping right side down on hinge worked like factory.

Jssec, that truck looks almost like my my 78 F-150 the same shade of red, and you don't have the racetrack molding, like I have, but just the top molding and a few other different little details and the most obvious is that yours is an F-250, where mine's an F-150. But it's still a beautiful looking truck.

Defender-Pro Epoxy Bed Liner With Kevelar

Purchased a Defender-Pro Bed Liner spray on kit from my local KOI Paint store.
Kit was $110 comes with 4 part "A" , 4 part "B" cans and a spray gun.

Bed had been sandblasted, 2 part epoxy primed it did not need a lot of prep.
Wiped it down wax/grease remover to get rid of dust over spray and blew out with air hose.

Taped off the bed and begin spraying. Lot of shaking of cans before combining and after of parts A&B. I bought an extra A&B just in case but did not need it will use it in the spare tire area.

So far am pleased it covered well, hid the pitted rough areas of the bed floor.
I may purchase another one and do my 2008 before I sell it to hid the scratches. I use a 5/8 rubber mat in the bottom of my bed so floor will not get a lot of wear. I could do the bed 6 times for what my local Line-X dealer wanted.
