Looks like it is in pretty good shape, whats the plan?

Assessing it now looks like I will take bed and cab off and rebuild. Been setting in a wood board garage for 10 years or more. Runs well some surface rust underneath 80k original miles motor runs no smoke. Not into add on will keep it stock looking. Will update as I go along.

Stripped inside of the doors will coat inside after through cleaning.

Got the Bed off Today

Bed came off easy after grinding off bolt heads as most know the factory nut clips never hold after a few years much less 36. Gas tank going out next then time for a little sand blasting. Did find the Camper Special wiring connections just behind the cab wrapped up in the frame.

Harbor Freight Sand Blaster

Sand Blasting F-350 CS today.

Took couple hours to blast the back frame and the under side of the bed. Used 100# of blast media I give the $100 Harbor Freight Sand Blaster a "Thumbs Up". Took all the old paint,flaking rust and dirt off. Don't see the need to clean it all down to bare metal. Will remove the wheels and drums and clean the backing plates. Seeing that there are no F-350 CS rear fuel tanks left in the world I will be welding up my own from reading the threads may even make some to sell. Left Hand Wheel Studs?

Owned a lot of F350's (12) starting in 1970 thru 2008 never ran across a left rear wheel that had left hand threads. After a few tries with the air gun to remove lugs upon further inspection this 1978 F350 Camper Special has left hand studs marked with and "L" on the end of the studs on the drivers side. Check out the owners manual and it does not mention it has "L" Studs.
