Love my 300.I only wish she was faster. For the fuel she uses she should be twice as quick.Still, the truck has multiple holes in the powerband. I'm not sure why.

The 300 is slow. It's more of a tractor engine. Think of it as a non-turbo diesel engine and drive it as such. You will appreciate the low end grunt, realiability and fuel economy.

300 is a good motor. That E4OD is a sloppy transmission and robs a lot of power - but with that said, it's a good transmission. Just keep an eye on it. If you tow, instal a transmission cooler and make sure to change the transmission fluid regularly.Congrats on the Ford truck. The 300 is good...

I think 3.55 is the best all around or the 300 - I wouldn't gear it any lower. I have 4.11 and even with 31'' tires she sucks down fuel on the highway like it's going out of style. I wish I had listened to everyone and gone to 3.55, even 3.73, instead of 4.11. Just a thought in case you were...

302 is a good motor. E4OD is a good tranny. I hate automatics (I have one) but if it's a good truck then buy it.
