It was the map sensor. Apparently it was not coding because it had failed completely. Vacuum was not being released. Now it's running and restarts fine. I'm going to post a thread about this later.
Ok think i found it. Warmed it up. Wouldn't start. Unplugged vacuum line, no go. Unplugged connector from MAP sensor. Cranked right up. Bad MAP sensor. Gonna test it to make sure and replace if bad. (fingers crossed)
How about vacuum lock? I had someone suggest this to me and it makes sense. I would think if the pickups were bad that it would not run well at all. When cold it runs great. Just won't restart when warm.
I have an 88 f250 that i have been working on for the past few weeks. It was parked about 6 months ago because it was running very rough and backfiring.Saved some cash and when i had the time started to tear into it. Found that i had a bad fuel injector so i pulled them all, cleaned them...
should i test the coil? I did with my analog voltmeter and I don't really understand the readings. It's reading about 1 ohm on the primary and 10000 on the secondary. Guess that's fine but not sure. I'm at my witts end. I really need help here. I have replaced almost every part on the...
Wouldn't I get a code on the TFI? I'll check it again. But It has been checked and sat since I checked it. Not sure why it would just go bad like that. Just don't want to take stabs in the dark. This is getting expensive!
Ok, checked the voltage on the Tps and it's .94 volts and goes to 4.5 volt at WOT. Smooth across the range as far as i can tell with a analog voltmeter.Pulled the IAC, cleaned it and put it back. Truck ran fine through warm up and drove it around quite a bit. Parked it and it would not...
Appreciate all of that Alvin! :) I will try to read again. I was thinking wrong wires too, but you want to believe what you read ;)I'll try those things and report back.
I'll try the IAC but I'm not sure why that would give me a code on the TPS.As far as adjusting the tp sensor. What two wires do i backprobe? The Haynes manual says the sig wire and return wire. When i do that it reads 4.5v all the time in KOEO test. This makes no sense when the code is...
Ok, been gone a while but i need some help and can't figure this one out.I had some issues with my 88 f250 and it was parked for a while. Figured out that i had clogged injectors and some other small problems. Replaced a faulty injector and cleaned all that were in good condition. Replaced...
Yes but if you look at his sig, his 302 is efi. I agree excess fuel will make a carb car run like crap and blow black smoke but I don't think it would with efi. Cause the amount of fuel is controlled by injectors.
Oh boy, that's not good. That would've been good info to have.Is any coolant leaking on the ground or just disappearing? And, do you have white to grey smoke?
Well I went through and did all the tests. Ended up being the Fuel Pump Relay. I did the DLC test and nothing happened. Replaced relay and away we go.Thanks for the help.
Ok, I tried to search for this on the forum but I didn't find the answers.Put new tires on the truck the other day. Got an alignment. All excited, drove it home thinking I can finally drive my truck again without any more problems.I was wrong. Got up the other day, it wont start. Turns...
Yeah, it's the stock stance. Prob gonna do the add a leaf thing. Just seeing if something less expensive would work. Cheap doesn't equal good though. I should know better LOL :O
I see that in your sig now. 37's, awesome. I put rub blocks on the springs cause it was so bad. How bout you? I limited out the knuckles today to. Shortened the turning radius but now it won't rub.
