IIRC the 05 'sploder has a unit bearing. Easy as pie.
1. Jack the vehicle up and put jack stands under it
2. Remove tire
3. remove caliper
4. remove disc
5. remove CV shaft retaining nut (If 4wd)
6. remove wheel speed sensor
7 remove 3 bolts on back of bearing assembly
8. remove bearing...
During that era, GM had a common issue with the upper plenum (plastic intake portion) cracking and leaking coolant into the engine. They are under $100 at the dealership.Make sure to have yours checked!

whenever I would kill my 4.0 SOHC, I would have to hold it halfway down for fuel kill, full throttle for any other type of kill.Yeah, my 4.0 EARNED its keep. that engine is tougher than nails though!

I have a question for you all: I am wanting to take a 4WD TK4 from a 85 BII and use a 2WD TK5 from a 87 Ranger. The goal is to make a 4wd, V-6 TK5. I am wanting to use the 2wd trans, with the 4WD bell housing and tailhousing. Is this possible?
Alright....I need serious help. here goes.I have a 87 Ranger with a 2.3L. The engine runs to 2700, then drops to about 2500, then revs back up. This does this no matter if its sitting still,or at WOT. I have the followng items replaced/tested:fuel lift pump
EGR valve
fuel pressure regulator...
