What did you do to your Dent today v2

Mine was still in the gear (fortunately). Had just sheared and allowed the gear to rotate on the shaft.

What did you do to your Dent today v2

Same thing happened on my 77 1.5 years ago. Exactly the same head scratching when checking the timing and after the adjustment. Good to get it figured out.

Question about BCM, LCD information center, etc.

Hoping someone here might have run across this.I have a 2005 F-150 XLT with 5.4 that I purchased new. Currently has ~89,000 miles. In the last year or so, the information center (LCD with odometer, compass and temp) has gone out sporadically. It is currently out and has been for a few days...

    1976 Power steering??

You would need the steering column, gearbox, pump, idler arm, high pressure line and return line with cooler for a power steering setup. Depending on the wrecking yards in your area, you might be able to find the parts there on a truck with factory setup. You would need the correct pump bracket...

    What are these parts?

Just do search for 3G alternator upgrade. That will do the trick (though I haven't done the upgrade yet).

    Dennis Carpenter??

When I replaced the weather strip on my 77 last year, I think I used weatherstrip specified for a 92-96. It has a rubber coated metal u-channel, with weatherstripping attached, that slides over the lip on the top and sides of the door. HOWEVER, you will still need a section of weather strip from...

    351m 400 ID

The dipstick on my 351M is on the passenger side. What you read earlier is correct, the only way to determine whether you have a 351M or 400 is to measure the stroke or check the crank casting number.

Could also be the magnetic pickup in the distributor.

    Bushing

The setup in those pictures is actually not bad for changing the bushings. The brackets appear to be bolted to the frame instead of riveted. And no castle nut or cotter pin. My 77 is the same. When I changed mine, after removing tire and wheel, I supported the frame under the crossmember, with...

Things you have contemplated doing to yourr truck

Along the lines of that idea, check out what this guy did with a Bronco. Amazing the amount of work that fabrication that went into it.http://home.comcast.net/~qcrispin/bronco/

    Ideal Fuel Rating for 351M?

Are you sure the engine was stroked instead of bored? My 351M was bored .040 when it was rebuilt ~ 3 years ago.Plug gap on these engines is .042-.046 but that shouldn't really have any effect.Do you still have EGR on the engine? If so, and it's operational, check the EGR plate under the...
