79 F-350 Lariat

Just got an email from the guy...he's trying to sell me on getting a '79 350 CC 4x4...got pics, but to busy to post the garbage he sent...did they even make a 350 CC 4x4 in '79?

In a 2wd version, no 4wd 1 ton's made by Ford for 79.

I'm sure he could make you one though, probably come with the stout D44HD option to.

And here's the note he sent me with it:

BEN,

TAKE A LOOK AT THIS AWESOME UNMOLESTED F350 I FOUND...

What's the VIN #? How come it has a gas cap and not a filler door on it? It looks like a very nice crew either way, wonder what he's asking for it.

Dunno...gonna send him an email back...you got any other questions you want me to ask him?

VIN # and how much, why was the bed changed on the unmolested survivor? That's about it. I think I still got some Vaseline left over from the last time.

Yea it's a Franken trk :) But Like I said I don't know how he's coming by these trks.Depending on the in person visual chk and a drive I'd buy that CC.That's a great combo_One I sure wish Ford made back in the day ;) IMO

I'd buy it if someone with some knowledge of the CC's would do a visual inspection for me to. I don't trust the guy one bit.

Still waiting on an email reply from him...so I'm waiting on the VIN, price, story behind the bed...and why he thinks it's a 350 CC. I'll post his reply when I get it. No luck finding a CC for the collection yet Scott? You looking for something to rebuild, or something to can hop in and drive with intentions of a future restore?

I don't want a rust bucket. I've found a couple but am scared at what lies beneath the new paint. I know how the CC's rust out and so far none of them have had any rust issues

Without having someone do an inspection for me or myself looking at it I don't buy much sight unseen any more.

I don't mind if I can find a decent one that needs little to no work, I don't want to do another frame off though. I'm getting tired of tearing them all apart.

HI HERE YOU ARE LOOKING AT A 6 YEAR OLD FRAME OFF TRUCK... THE TRUCK IS AN ORIGINAL 74 THAT HAS BEEN STRIPED AND TURNED INTO A 1979 FORD F350 4 DOOR 4X4, PAINTED INSIDE AND OUT
...more honest than he's been on other listings

Yeah...I guess you have to give him credit for that. I wonder if that had anything to do with my line of questioning, so he felt he needed to be a little more honest this time around...although he could have hid my comments, so what could I have done?

So now it is a 74 huh? I don't buy the frame off either. Pictures speak for themselves. I'll give him credit for a sharp looking truck but thats about it. Wonder if he'll sell me just the body. :rolling laugh:

I finished the frame off on my 250 in 2003 and this is what it still looks like. Aside from some dust the paint is all still there.

I'd just about bet a 100 bucks that it don't make it to the end of the auction. It will be canceled.
