i cut down my old bumper yesterday because i was all bent up and ugly. it was a 3 foot piece left and the brackets were bent and the bolts were all messed up so i decided to tear it off and start building a new one thatwill eventually hold a winch.
i want to build it like an old warn winch bumper but it will be 8 inch channel steel for the winch area and 1/4 inch plate evrywhere else. i'm not sure how to do brackets whether i should make like 10 inch pieces that weld straight to the channel steel or
cut two pieces of channel steel that are 4 inches wide weld those on and bolt some brackets on and weld the edges of the brackets then that will bolt to the frame with three bolts.
