well, i ended up putting all 4 new shocks on the S-blazer & replaced the front shocks on the ranger. the differance to the blazer was amazing, before it was like riding in a boat, it would keep bouncing somewhat like you were riding across waves, now you can drive over a speedbump and it just setteles itself out. didnt realize just how bad they were, although all 4 still had the gas-charge & would self-extend if you compressed them. the ranger on the otherhand doesnt ride any better than it did, still seems fine, switching from my 6-ply load range C winter tires to the softer 4 ply uniroyals for summer did more for ride quality than anything. the ranger shocks would also self-extend when compressed, but werent nearly as strong to do so as the new shock are. the wife is real happy about how her vehicles rides now.
