My Bronco is an Eddie Bauer, but no cutouts in the grill. Could be due to the year (1990) though.

But speaking of tow hooks... I snagged a set of them at the junkyard a couple weeks ago. I looked under my Bronco and there are two holes in the frame that match the holes I would need for these tow hooks *exactly*. But there are two problems - the sway bar bracket needs to be trimmed a little to make room for the hook, and the valance would be in the way.

I was going to take the valance off, but after reading this I won't. :) I need all the MPG I can get in this thing.

However, for crumple zone frames (Chris!) the crumple zone is right where you'd want to mount hooks. So you'd have to find a different place to mount them further back.

I like the bumper with the holes in it , gives it a meaner look. I plan on taking my valance off , looking to get a lightning valance on there.

Sweet thanks polerbear! I like the one page with the bronco just like mine pulling the boat lol. That will be me this summer lol. Thanks everyone for your help. I was just curious to see what was back there behind the holes... If i get stuck, i guess il have to buy another new valance.. But i know one way i can not have to buy a new valance.. And that is to not get stuck lol!

My truck has one?? :)

This bumper like said is a PS and EB thing . But allot of late 96 and 97 XLTs Got them . I think they were cleaning house. Because I looked at a XLT F250 New in 97 and it had the smooth bumper.

There r no Factory tow hooks. There was a company that made a set (tube LIke) that slid over the crumple zones. I'd just get a front mounted class 3 hitch . I have put them behind where license plate goes cut hole in bumper. Then made a License plate holder to slide in it and hide hitch. At least front frame is tied together that way.

I agree with you, but it's really odd that the hooks I got from the junkyard fit the holes in my frame exactly. I guess Ford put the holes there and some company came along and made hooks to go there.

And yeah, a front receiver hitch is ideal, but these were way cheaper. :D
