This is my first post I'm hoping that I can meet some guys on here that can help me out this is my first project and I have a lot of questions haha first off I have a 1978 f100 I went with a 1995 cobra 5.0 nothing to fancy gt40 heads,e303 cam demon 650 carb, edelbrock performer rpm intake MSD ignition shorty headers and a world class Borg Warner t5 trans. And I lowered the truck 4" and now I'm trying to decide on what gear I should run. I want to drive it on the street but i want the best all around gear for this application in this truck... Please help.

3.73 Is what i would go with...Good for street or strip...had it in my former 5.0 Mustang with the same cam and carb & as your running...My Heads were Elderbrock Rpm type...

Thanks... Another question, the truck was an automatic before. I put a Howe 3/4 bore master cylinder in and installed an aluminum willwood clutch pedal out of a race car. But I still need a hydraulic throw out bearing for a t5 trans. Most applications using the hydraulic clutches that I know of are circle track cars and most of them are running 3 and 4 speed Saginaw trans so there aren't a lot of company that make a "ford" hydraulic throw out bearing. Not cheap anyways. Does anyone know of a company that's sales them? Other than "ram" or "McLeod".

My first quetion was "How big are your tires?" and my second question was "What kind of driving are you doing?" The purpose of the vehicle (daily drive or just a friday cruiser) will make a difference.

What you need to do it run the numbers in a calculator...

Then you can see where all your operating rpms are at...guessing, IMO is dicey at best given the cost/work of doing a gear swap.
