I took the intake off to day and got the front of the motor tore down to also replace the timing chain, I think the motor may of been rebuilt once, really clean inside, I will get pic's up soon.

Only thing that seems weird is if the motor was rebuilt once why would the timing chain be so loose, you think they would of put a new one in.

Got the new timing chain put on and the water and the accessory stuff put back on. Still got to do the intake and carb.

Got everything put back together and the truck runs, Now i have a whole new list of running problems i have to fix, but i will save them issues for another day.

Well decided to stick to my guns and take her for a spin. Aired up the tires, washed it and drove it to the parade today.

Fired up the ol' girl and took her to the parade and firework show in Independence, TX.

Washed her up and brought her out to the cruise in at Hot Nights, Cool Tunes in Brenham.

Put a Lincoln Mk 8 fan in it to control the transmission temp. I have a 545 stroked 460 with a 9 1/2" converter - 3500 stall. With the fan clutch and shroud the tranny would hit 250* - way too hot. There are a lot of ways of hooking up the Mrk 8 fan. Some of the Mrk 8 fans are 2 speed, variable speed and one speed. I opted for a 200 amp continuous relay with a 185*/175* off switch. Even though the fan covers only 64% of the radiator it is keeping the transmission at the same temp as the engine which is 180 to 195*.

Begun task of radius arm bushings...got the drivers side in...gotta getnthe I beam and shock back on and rip into otherside.....the old bushing was litrally completly gone except for the fat part in front that was smashed to bout half its normal size. Pass side one doesnt look as bad but im gonna change it anyways.

Side thats (almost) done...only took 4 hrs and about 1000 cuss words
