Welcome back Dustin! I'm no expert on the old trucks, but I had no idea they did styleside beds in 57. That blew my mind trying to figure that out...

Anyway, I'm glad you're back.

57 was the first year for them. His is a long bed F-250, but the short bed ones still had the option of the same bed as mine. They offered the "hay bed" up until 73, but the fenders were higher mounted at some point. The same rear fenders were used until 79 actually. The bed itself was different.

I don't know much about the stylesides.

Thanks for the welcome backs everyone!

Yeah, they started it in 57, it was the big change in body styles for Ford trucks, it was a pretty straight truck and was my first vehicle, but i'm hoping to get it running, was going to sell it but can't get much out of it so i figure might as well make it a driver :D

If you can make it a driver...just keep it. You will always need a truck for something later in life. Might as well drive one around that no one else has. I don't like the "coookie cutter" ones like my explorer. There are millions of them that look almost alike.

What i shoulda done, well, there's a lot of those momenst so far, but shoulda kept the 78 F-150 Ranger 4x4 that had a bullet proof drivetrain, converted it to manual and then had some fun and worked on the 57 to make it a driver, but we'll see, almost wanna get outa the Civic even tho it's got a nice B16A 2nd gen and turbo'd, i'm thinking about what i wanna do tho. Might see if Lane and his dad wanna help undertake the project and see if we can't get it to a driver this break :) Doubt ya'd wanna come all the way to Kansas for it TexasNomad, haha. It'd be fun to drive it into the dorms, no one would know what to say.

Give me some time to think about it Klat....
(engines cleaner then those pictures, that was after a trip in the back of my friends truck, to say the least the oil the valve covers leaked plus dirt didn't get along, but i had every hole covered so it didn't get anything inside, i've cleaned it up alot since than)
Think we came to a good deal on the phone, after pictures of course, here are a few more pics i have of it.

I'll get more pics of the truck friday for you tho, and more pictures of the interior, under view of the engine, and chassis as well as the ones we talked about. I'll also call Josh and see if he can get something set up if we do go through with it, which i hope we do. The one picture i was talking about on the intake i'll have to take when i go home friday. Hope those pictures give you a better idea tho.
