Oh man that thing is awwwwwwwwwwwwwesome. I've seen it a few times, but never in action like that. That thing is seriously one tough/strong machine.

Yeah ive seen em before but its still fun to watch. Out pullin a diesel like that really isnt hard with that truck cause theres no wieght on the rear tires.

on the 6x6 note, we have one of these

and i would never get a 4x4 after using one of them. the ride quality, power, etc is unbeatable.

I like the truck but i think the only reason he won against the semi is because the semi was holding on his brakes. You can hear the air brakes realease then the truck starts pulling it otherwise B.A.

Well that could be the case...but then when the 6x6 started spinning he shoulda hit the gas and won. But in those kinds of pulls, it's all about traction and attach point. The Ford essentially lifted the rear of the semi due to being higher...always key. Then he also appeared to have muuuuuuch wider tires and all 6 had power. But I had a question about the semi being on the brakes...any of the pulls I've been to or participated in, hitting the brakes was an instant loss. Anyone else know of different competition rules?

Hes holdin the brakes cause if he guns it hell just spin em and lose the pickup will take off. It proves that right at the first of the video and later on on the second attempt .

Also if ya look at the straps real close youll see that they attached em further up on the diesels frame in front of the fifth wheel and they looked to be about level.

So like I said...when the Ford was spinning, that's when the semi shoulda gunned it.

ehh...I dunno, still looks like there's at least a 6" difference to me

The Ford has more traction is what Im gettin at. Its kinda hard to tell how level the straps are from that angle but theyre hooked to the top of the frame on the diesel and not undrneath.

Maybe it's a properly tuned semi?????? The sign of black smoke is a sign of waste and improperly burned cetane.

The way I see it, it's just a show. :)

The semi and its driver belong to the "bad ass" Ford as part of the act.
If I owned the semi and it really was a contest like that...
...you'd see weights on the rear end.

Lead's cheap and effective. ;)

http://www.panix.com/~alvinj/file12/bumper1.jpg

That's 322 pounds of lead and hardware = 120 pounds -off- the front tires.
442 pounds of added traction weight to the rear tires and I'm just a dumb
ditch digger and I could figure it out, you know a guy in a contest could. ;)

It's just a show. ;)
