Ya, It could have been. Looks good and I couldn't find any imperfections, but it's the same with my cowl Badging. They are DC blems and I couldn't find anything wrong with them. But I agree that you take your chances with LMC. If you go through DC directly at least you know what you get.

BTW Ben, my 3 year old son is sitting with me and saw your sig and loves your trucks/Bronco. Now he wants me to go through and show him all the other sig pics from everyone.

That's awesome! I look forward to those days ahead.....Brett is 15 months now. My wife and I had just found out she was pregnant with him when I first joined FTF shortly after I bought my dent.

You can tell him there's always a co-driver seat available for him in my rigs. Did he realize daddy won't let anyone touch his keys so he's looking for other opportunities??? HAHA.

It's fun. Right now it's all about cars and trucks. I've put a lot of miles on this summer just cruising around taking him and my 16M daughter around in pickup rides.

He'd surely take you up on that. He's already got his hands on Daddy's pickup keys and he's already misplaced one set.

Ken,

A clean and tidy fix is using some closed cell foam, like the weather stripping used for doors. Comes in different widths and thicknesses. Makes for a clean install and will definitely eliminate the wind noise.

You mean adding to the rubber weatherstripping? Or putting the foam on the latch for more pressure? Cause the weather stripping is pretty much like new, so the rubber and the seal is fine...not even sure water will get in in a car wash, but when I add a little pressure, like putting a piece of cardboard (I like Randy's clip idea....maybe he'll let me buy one from him since I'm not handy enough to make one :)) or coin on it, it stops it completely.....I was hoping there was a way to tighten the latch, but it looks like the little pin in there starts to bend and the white plastic (not in my case here either) wears over time.

Ken I would gladly make you one. The the only problem is I don't have a dent here to make a pattern from. Dents are few and far between here due to rust.

lining the outside perimeter of the window glass with 1/4" weatherstripping. It will add pressure to the latch when you close the side vent. Only thing you may not like is when open, you will see the weatherstripping,

Ah...ok, got it. Thanks.

What causes this is the half-moon swivel tab that the clevis pin leans up against. Eventually with usual force used to turn the knob the 2 things ear out and un-replaceable
You can drill the hole in the knob larger and use a larger clevis pin to work for a few years

Usually a piece of light cardboard is the solution since using a coin will cause a thief to use his/her screwdriver and really cost you money

I collected drivers side vent windows every time I found a good one.

I have one tinted vent window left

The levers have bent on mine over the years, and since zinc is a soft plus a
brittle metal ...they can't be bent back without breaking 'em (usually that is).

I use old hard drive magnets (with their frames) for spacers instead of coins,
the coins fall out and it was costing me a fortune replacing 'em. ;)

The nylon tips don't look worn at all on mine.
Nothing there to wear 'em out seems to me. YMMV

Instead of hammering on the lever's roll pin I used pliers to press a short
piece of music wire against the roll pin. Still got that short hunk of music
wire I'd cut special for the job. ;) 1/2"x 5/64"

Bought "brand new seals" from the Ford Dealership way back when but guess
what, they weren't "new" they'd been on the shelf since '74 or '79 or who
knows when? They helped -but not much- because they were too stiff to
comply to the window etc unlike when they were really-brand-new.

I'd noticed the new vehicles had a foam weatherstrip around the upper part
of the doors to decrease wind noise so I put some on the Old Clunker. :)
Off hand can't remember how much it really helped tho.

Dymatting the whole cab (>$300) did more than anything to reduce noise.
Took dB readings but I don't remember the numbers anymore.
