Here's one in your "neighborhood", Ken.

Where? Is the one in NY?

Sorry, Ken, I guess it helps if I provide the link.

I looked for it on e-bay this morning and the truck is no longer listed. I was also trying to remember the name of the town. I looked for it on the Maine Dept of Revenue website(I figure they know where EVERYBODY lives), and none of those towns rang a bell. Must be a township. I think it started with a 'M' and ended with a 'ville'. Distance from Farmington was about 70 miles .

It was an over-the-top, red 76-79 with a tiltup bed in the back. It was a professional restoration, much like yours.

I know which one you're talking about Doug....he wants way too much for what our budget is....we want to stay in the $10-15 range and based on what's out there, we should be able to find something similar to mine in this economy.

I've been up close and personal with that 76 at car shows (he wins a lot), but is asking $27k for it.

Naw :)

I dont know about you but i get sick of seeing every sweet Ford truck with a 460 in it.

Its kinda like going to a car show and seeing a a sweet hot rod and not even having to open to the hood to know its got a 350 in it.

^^^Keep in mind...I'm probably the biggest 400 advocate on the net (certainly the boards I post on), so I know where you're coming from.

Yes, i do like the oddball engines like the 400. Its good to see someone give them some lovin.

Me personally though someday i want a 77 Highboy with a Hot 300 I6 in it...

Ive been a believer in the 300 ever since my grandpa had one in a 94 3/4ton that he used to pull a 4 horse all steel gooseneck horse trailer with 4 horses in it all over this country...

Both of my 300s i had impressed me....plus they last forever.

If/when my 400 dies i might get me a warmed up 300...but i dont know yet :)
